Choosing the Proper Meditation Chair
from:When it comes to choosing the proper equipment for meditation, it is very important that you feel comfortable with what you have; especially since you are allowing yourself and mind to completely shut down and relax! Therefore, before purchasing any equipment it is best to look thoroughly through all your choices.
As many people are beginning to meditate, more and more people are choosing a meditation chair over any other types of sitting equipment; such as cushions, benches or mats. In fact, the meditation chair is now becoming one of the top selling meditation tools! In order to pick out a great meditation chair, you will want it to have a slight angle that goes forward; as it prevents you from slouching during meditation.
When it comes down to picking out a meditation chair, there are many things that you should take into consideration beforehand. One of the main things that you should think about is whether or not you will be traveling with the meditation chair. If you are, then you will want to think about getting a portable meditation chair. Along with thinking about meditation chairs, you will also want to keep the weight of the meditation chair down to a minimum, as well. Therefore, you will want to choose a chair that is small but yet comfortable; as there are many different styles.
As for the different styles of meditation chairs, there are many to choose from as well as companies that make them. In fact, some of the more popular styles of meditation chairs are portable chairs that are focused on lumbar support, the Rama Warrior Meditation Chair that is made for sitting for long periods at a time, the Zendi meditation chair (which is actually a cushion that is made for easy transportation) and the Seagrass Meditation Chair. Some of the other types of meditation chairs that people like are the Salubrion meditation seat, the backjack chair and the wandering monk meditation chair. There are also a variety of meditation chairs that are used for Zen meditation, yoga, tantric yoga and also for spinal alignment.
One of the best know companies for making great meditation chairs are Zen by Design (which have a large variety of chairs as well as other meditation products to choose from). Along with Zen by Design, there are many other great companies; however, you will have to go through stores to purchase some of their products. Some of the other places that you can go to for meditation chairs are on the internet (as there are many great webpage's to choose from; which show you the actual product/chair); you can go to different yoga shops as well as through many "natural" stores.
No matter which type of chair you choose, you will want it to fit perfectly for your body; therefore, you will want to try it out before you actually purchase it!
